Six victims of Peshawar bus blast laid to rest in Mardan

PESHAWAR – Six victims who lost their lives when a bomb ripped through a Peshawar Civil Secretariat bus killing 15 and wounding 44 in Peshawar’s crowded shopping district of Saddar were laid to rest Wednesday in Mardan.

Residents and citizens were stricken with grief during the funeral over the loss of innocent lives.

Ismail Khan Bacha, a resident of Takhut Bhai, was also amongst those who departed from this world in the bomb blast. Ismail Khan was the only brother of his 4 sisters and the sole breadwinner of the family. He had apparently climbed aboard bound for work-related duties.

Another tragic story is that of Inam who was accompanying his father but lost his life during the attack.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion, which took place as the bus carrying mainly government employees was passing through the Saddar area

Police official and hospital authorities confirmed the incident and casualties.

Bomb disposal officials said a four-kilogramme (nine-pound) improvised explosive device (IED) had been planted near the bus’s gas cylinder and appeared to have been detonated remotely.
